Qualifications
A key component of Genii Learning Services is tutor qualification and training. Our program is committed to delivering high quality educational programs by trained, experienced, motivated professionals. Tutors must exemplify a personal commitment to teaching, working with youth, and posses a bachelor’s degree. Prior to hire, all prospective tutors must complete an employment application and pass a rigorous interview, background check, and screening process.
Requirements
- Certified teacher
- Experience in Math or Language Art
- Passion for teaching and working with youth
- Experience with and access to a computer
- Reliable transportation
Shifts
- Weekdays, M-TH Afterschool for 1.5hrs
Responsibilities
- Administer assessment test to each student (Pre & Post)
- Provide small group instruction
- Understand and utilize research based instructional strategies, methods, and curriculum that are designed to increase the student proficiency in reading, language arts and math
- Develop tutoring plans that align to the student achievement goals and outcomes
- Complete all necessary forms and paperwork. This includes filling out Individual Learning Plans
- (ILPs), assessments, logging session notes
- Document on-going performance progress for acadmic achievement, skills, behavior, and overall attitude
- Communicate with teachers and parents this may include written or verbal communication as requested by the teacher or parent
- Follow policy procedures as outlined in Genii Tutor Handbook
